Pipe Descaling process
We tend to carry out pipe de-scaling with our high pressure jetting machines especially in underground pipes. The pressure produced from the tiny holes in the drain nozzle will remove most scale from the wall of domestic drain-pipes. However, it is not always possible to use the jetting equipment, particularly if the pipe is running down through a building with several stories such as a hospital. Our rotary machines are perfect for such jobs. They will easy reach through 5 stories of drain pipe and is extremely effective at remove scale from pipe walls. Our different attachments can negotiate the tightest of bends without losing cleaning power.
Why do pipes need descaling?
Pipes will fur up more and more with scale if not cleaned regularly. Also, if a drain-pipe has dropped slightly underground and has lost fall/ gravity out towards to the main sewer in the road, then water will build up at the bottom of the pipe which can turn into scale over the years. Urine scale is most common in pubs and restaurants and often requires lengthy ‘out of hours’ attention due to the hardness and smell. We often recommend a 6-12 months maintenance schedule when we come across urine scale, especially if the pipes are hard to get to i.e. behind walls.
